Photos by Hyzein, Patrick, David, SK, Andrew, Graham & Michael / Bon Ton Langkawi

Last night's hotel hunting (for a family trip in December) brought me here. Boy and girls, say hello to the Bonton Resort and Restaurant, home to 8 beautiful antique Malay houses nestled in a coconut plantation.

The 8 villas, all facing the pool and lagoon, are individually designed and decorated with colorful bedding, furniture, etc. From 60 year-old fisherman's house (Yellow Orchid) to a 100 year-old ketua kampung house (Cahaya Villa - fits 4-6 adults), the Bon Ton is air-conditioned, hooked up to the Internet and 5 minutes away from the sea. Best of all, each house comes with selipar and sarong!

:P

So how much does it cost to sleep in a sarong in a kampung house?

Oh only between RM 490 - RM 1160 per night.

Say what you want to say... I still think it's a gem!
